On June 13, Zaman’s education and workforce development program, BOOST, recognized the hard work of the 126 adult women who completed over 18,000 hours of instruction during the 2022-2023 school year. Completed coursework ranged from literacy, to workforce readiness, to industrial and garment sewing and culinary training.
The students were joined at Ford Field Park by a crowd of friends and relatives, Zaman team members, and partner organizations who each provided critical support throughout the most eventful year to date for BOOST. In addition to being named Michigan's Top Literacy Program of 2022, BOOST also worked to support several students through Workforce Preparation and Entrepreneurship Programs. Furthermore, 39 students of the students earned at least one state or national certification that will help position them to pursue sustainable employment.
The celebration included speeches from several students and instructors, booths hosted by BOOST Entrepreneurs, and a lunch served by the Zaman Culinary Kitchen.
